In my Project 7 presentation I expressed interest in working with film negatives, and trying to create a comic using film negatives, which I had originally intended to be the bulk of the comic itself. Because of the limitations of working from home when the majority of my supplies were still in my accommodation in London I had to change how I was going to use the film negatives, and how I was going to incorporate them into the comic. I would've liked to have adhered to my original Project 7 plan, with minimal changes, but that wasn't feasible. If I had the chance to remake the project I would definitely do so with my original plan, as I think it would've been overall more visually engaging.
BUT looking at the outcome of this project as is, I think I am pleased with how it turned out. I enjoyed working with watercolour and ink in the way that I did, and I think it was overall a valuable experience. I think my portrayal of Welles' was authentic, and that I portrayed 'true' version of him. I think my choice to present him using his own words, i.e through adapting an interview, definitely helped in not misrepresenting him. This project has definitely has taught me about both resource management, and different ways to present a narrative/ voice. Both of these skills will inform my practice in the future.
