The main purpose of Unit 4 is to present your chosen character/ figure's 'voice' authentically, so to ensure I wasn't going to misrepresent Orson Welles, I decided to use his own words. Using extracts from 'THIS IS ORSON WELLES', a book of interviews between him and Peter Bogdanovich, made it so that the likelihood of me completely misinterpreting, and creating something inauthentic is much less. I think that when portraying the 'voice' of a person (living or dead) it is important to strive to be as authentic as possible. 

In my basic research I narrowed the book down to 3 possible extracts which were;

• pages 47-49 and pages 90-91,
• pages 134-141,
• or page 182.

Ultimately I decided on focusing on p. 47-49 and p. 90-91, which are shown in the adjacent scans. I felt this extract was more suited to the outcome of this project as it reads as more conversational than the others, it focuses (mainly) on the most well-known part of Welles' career, which makes it more accessible, and I think it's more 'fun' than the others.
